So you can't figure out what's going on...
This is a good thing. It shows that you are a normal person. This website would make very little sense to someone who didn't already know the ins and outs of it. So, you wonder, is this website all some kind of joke or is there actual content to be found? Of course there is actual content. You just need to know where to look.
If you looked through my website for the first time without looking here, you would think that it is full of glitches. However, this is not the case. The design of this site is completely purposeful, and it took me a long time to create something so dysfunctional, so please respect my efforts by actually looking at it (after you've read this of course).
First off, if you came here from my mom's website and want to go back there, you can click here to return there. However, I strongly recommend that you stay here and check things out a bit before leaving my site so abruptly.
Next up, the home page. The easiest part of it to use is the menu, of course (though the menu can get you into as many traps as everything else put together). If you mouse over a link on the menu, you can get a heads up as to which links are usable and vice versa.
Looking at the menu from top to bottom, the home page link is exactly what it is. The next link down, labeled "the hiking page," is perfectly safe and leads you in to the most usable part of this website (more on that later). The "my mom" link is safe as well, though it likely won't lead you where you expect to go.
The "unsafe" links on this site lead you into "mazes" of sorts in which the only escape is the back button. The "fake home" section of this site is the largest and most obvious of these. Technically, there is a way out of "fake home," but it isn't likely that you'll find it, and even if you do it is extremely hard to use. For people who want a good experience with this site, don't enter fake home at all. That said, for those who like such things, fake home does have a couple of interesting tricks up its sleeve. Just make sure your back button works properly if you decide to check them out.
If there is a link to "the secret page" in plain sight, do you actually expect it to get you there? Yes, there is a secret page on this site, and no, of course the link in the menu won't get you there. In fact, it just leads into another trap only inescapable except by means of the back button. The actual secret page should be easier to find for people who routinely read a site's source code (hint, hint). There's even a secret secret secret page if you're so inclined, though it is password-protected and I doubt you'll ever find it. Here's the link to get you started.
Also on the home page are several hidden links (just click in random places), a mouse-over clock and a link to customize your own page. There are no traps in the latter, unless you try to hack into my website using this feature of course.
Clicking on "the hiking page" brings you to the hiking page, and several associated pages. None of these pages have traps in them, though for the best description of this section you should go to the "how to use this guide" section. Also, the links in this section are equipped with the same mouse-over feature that is in the main menu.
You also might find the Site Map helpful. However, don't expect full access to it. The complete site map is protected by a password, and you guessed it, I'm not going to give it to you.
That said, getting lost is just another part of the fun, and now you know exactly how to do it.
